When you have two or three weeks vacation coming to you, whether it is in the summer or winter, you might want to think of taking a Costa Rica vacation. The time of the year doesnt really matter because this country enjoys tropical temperatures all during the year. The height of the tourist season is from May to November because this is the dry season. The rest of the year is classified as the wet season with periods of rain occurring at some point during the day. You can still take in all the usual tourist sights and sounds because the rain follows a predictable schedule and rains at approximately the same time depending on where you are in the country. If you want to see spectacular sunsets, then you should plan your trip during the wet season.

When you plan a Costa Rica vacation on the west side of the island, it doesnt really matter what time of the year you go. The temperature is usually around 80 degrees because you are close to the equator. You can still take part in the same activities as in the dry season. The Pacific Coast may have areas that are inaccessible during this time of year because of wet and muddy roads.

Most people use air travel for their Costa Rica vacation. You can fly into either San Jose or Liberia and there are numerous car rental agencies at both airports. You wont need a visa if you dont plan to stay any longer than 90 days. There are also two domestic airlines to use for travel within the country.

A Costa Rica vacation simply has to include a trip to the rainforest, one of the many ecological reserves and the volcanoes. There are also many opportunities for surfing, sailing, golfing, backpacking, hiking and many, many more activities. You certainly wont be bored on your vacation and you will find that the local people are very friendly and willing to help whenever they can. The main language spoken is Spanish, but in the popular tourist areas many people also speak English.
